Today we take a ride through Kutjevo Vineyards, part Požega Valley - a geographical microregion of Slavonia. 800 acres of vineyards occupy this area, while it is characterized by a semi humid continental climate.
This ride is provided courtesy of the Papuk GeoPark, a UNESCO protected GeoPark that includes the upland forests of the Papuk and Krndija mountains, and edges of agricultural fields.
The “Days of Croatian Tourism” event was held in Bol on October 26 and 27. While accolades and awards were given in masses to destinations on the coast, a clear message was given to continental Croatia for next year: be ready.
A special moment of the night was the Lifetime Achievement award given to Selimir Ognjenovic from the German tour operator ID Riva. When accepting the award, Ognjenovic invited everyone to discover and develop tourism in Slavonia and Baranja, Zagorje and beyond the continent.
“All of you young people who work in tourism and have traveled the world, have you been to Slavonia and Baranja? Now is the time to start,” said Ognjenovic.

Samobor is a city in Zagreb county and part of the Zagreb metropolitan area. The town itself is located west of Zagreb, between the eastern slopes of the Samobor hills, the eastern part of Žumberak mountain, and part of the Sava River valley. Since 1242, Samobor has existed as a free royal town. Samobor is also the best known tourism destination in Zagreb county, famous for its delicious “kremšnita”.

Tuhelj, Krapinske Toplice, and Pregrada are all villages and municipalities in the Krapina-Zagorje county in Croatia, located in northern Croatia. What is also the most historic region of Hrvatsko-Zagorje, this particular bike route follows the hot springs in the area - taking you to two beautiful valleys and famous spa resorts which are rich in Chromium and mud. Hrvatsko zagorje is a region north of Zagreb. It comprises the whole area north of Medvednica mountain up to Slovenia in the north and west, and up to the regions of Međimurje and Podravina in the north and east. "Zagorje" literally means "trans-mountain area" or "beyond the mountain", so as you’d imagine, the bike routes here are pretty spectacular. Bike Zagorje brings you the Kumrovec – Desinić bike route.
Today we take you through the central Croatian town of Ozalj, situated in Karlovac County. The town of Ozalj itself was built on a cliff over the Kupa river, with its first mention of existence dating back to 1244. As an interesting point to its history, the Frankopan family owned the town since 1398, then it passed to the Zrinski family in 1550 - staying theirs until 1671.
