Route description:
Start of this route is in the Primorski Dolac village in the Dalmatian hinterland. The peculiarity of this route is that it is not circular and ends in Split. Now, how to get to Primorski Dolac. Option A: take the car and return for it. Option B: bike it, but it’s only asphalt to get there. Option C: the one we took, getting on the train in Split and exiting in Dolac. A rakija or two on the train and we were there. Bikes out and we’re at the route start. From the train station southeast to the village and near the end of it turn right towards the houses beneath the hill. Take the single-track uphill to the road to Prgomet. Cross the road and beyond the houses to the church of St. Stipan near the toll booths. Past the church via gravel uphill and take the second right uphill above Prgomet. Follow the gravel to the Šimići village. From Šimići left to the gravel that leads to Botići. In Botići stay on the gravel going to Kaštela and downhill to the ramp. Here take the road left that leads to the Malačka road. When at the road, follow it uphill and at the first bend, cross right to the firefighters road crossing Kozjak. That road will take you to the Putalj mountain lodge where you can rest. From the lodge further south downhill to the Kaštel Sućurac cemetery. Before the cemetery left towards the cement quarry. Past the quarry descend right into the village and take the road to the Kaštela bypass. At the crossing go left uphill to the cement warehouse. Take the road right and then left towards Solin and Salona. At the stop light above the church in the St. Kajo area go right towards Salona. At the bottom of the road go left into Salona and the grand amphitheatre. Further through Salona to the southeast and to the large crossing in Solin. Follow the old road through the industrial zone and into Split.
