The “Days of Croatian Tourism” event was held in Bol on October 26 and 27. While accolades and awards were given in masses to destinations on the coast, a clear message was given to continental Croatia for next year: be ready.
A special moment of the night was the Lifetime Achievement award given to Selimir Ognjenovic from the German tour operator ID Riva. When accepting the award, Ognjenovic invited everyone to discover and develop tourism in Slavonia and Baranja, Zagorje and beyond the continent.
“All of you young people who work in tourism and have traveled the world, have you been to Slavonia and Baranja? Now is the time to start,” said Ognjenovic.
With that said, we bring you a bike route through Baranja, as provided by the Tourist Board of Baranja.
Here is the Route Zlatna Greda - Panonski put mira (Golden Beam - Pannonian peace path)
Here is a recreational and relaxing route that takes you from from Osijek, along the Pannonian peace path across Baranja to the desolate stretch of land called Zlatna Greda.
The path is marked and during the ride cyclists can discover many accommodations, restaurants, natural and cultural points of interest.
During dry periods (and if you consider yourself to be an experienced cyclist), you may consider riding your bike bike through flooded forests all the way to the Danube.
