The Winter Brevet is a time to welcome the winter season with a 200 kilometer circle around Posedarje, a municipality in Zadar.

The start and finish will be in Posedarje on the waterfront (Ul. Ivana Gorana Kovačića bb) at the stand labeled "Bike listopad Posedarje". The event will take place on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 07:00, with the goal to finish by 20:30 (time limit is 13 hours and 30 minutes).

The route is designed as a complement to the Brevet 4 bridge. All of the favorite roads that cannot "fit" in the 4 bridge and its 230 km, are now here. The road along the Novigrad and the view of Novigrad - check. Viewpoint Kamenjak on Lake Vrana - check. The circle around Vir - check. The picturesque valley between Ljupco and Radovina - waiting to be discovered.

The first kilometers of the route are run by Novigrad. You then pass over Novigrad and disconnect from the coast, followed shortly by the first checkpoint (at around 20 km), at the gas station Batur Benz. The road leads over Karina Donji and after a short climb and descent you will arrive in Benkovac. You will then see the Kamenjak lookout on Lake Vrana. If the day is clear and bright, it is good to gaze into the distance as it is possible to see the highest peak of the Apennines, Corno Grande. The route continues along the coastline, but after a short time on the Magistrala you will see Ravna Kotar and then go into the Zadar hinterland, to the Vir bridge, and to the western end of the island of Vir. On the way back to Vir, a planned break is scheduled for refreshment at the Vir Advent. Afterwards you will have a brief return to Nin, in the direction of Posedarje...and just when it seems like you are already in Posedarje, you will separate from the main road to catch the last checkpoint after a climb up. You will then have more beautiful views on Velebit, a few small bumps with a ride downhill - and the end!

The total length is a little over 200 km with a 1500 m of climb and very good roads. Navigation is easy, but be careful on the lower river sections before Vrana Lake and island Vir. A strong storm is possible, but the brevet avoids the most exposed areas, so there should be no major problems.

In addition to having the correct bike for participation, it is also required that you wear a helmet, reflective vest, white front and rear red light. It is also recommended to have handy tools, a pump, tire repair accessories and a spare tube.
