Samobor is a city in Zagreb county and part of the Zagreb metropolitan area. The town itself is located west of Zagreb, between the eastern slopes of the Samobor hills, the eastern part of Žumberak mountain, and part of the Sava River valley. Since 1242, Samobor has existed as a free royal town. Samobor is also the best known tourism destination in Zagreb county, famous for its delicious “kremšnita”.

Here is a ride through the Samobor environs along the right bank of the Sava river, as provided by the Tourist Board of Zagreb County.

The route will begin in the center of Samobor. If you need to park your car, parking is available at the movie theatre on Matice Hrvatske Square in Samobor. When you reach the intersection in Bregana at the bus station, turn right. Take caution, this part of the road has heavier traffic right up to the overpass. You will see the overpass between Bregana and Samoborski Otok. Take Samoborski Otok. Continue towards Savrščak. You will then reach a T intersection at which you will turn left. At the next T intersection turn left in the direction of the settlement of Medsave. At the next T intersection next to a grass field, turn left. At the T intersection next to the bus station, turn right. Proceed with caution! At the intersection cross over the main road at Grada Wirgesa Street. Continue straight to the center of Samobor where you will reach the starting point of the route.

The is a round trip route that takes you along the right bank of the Sava River. The route is combined with paved asphalt and gravel surfaces. The route is not marked with markings for cyclists.

The route is 31 kilometers and takes about two hours. Full details on the route can be found here.
