"ŠIC NA BIC" is the name of the cyclosportive event held in Novi Marof. A small pitorseque town halfway from Zagreb to Varaždin will held another popular "biciklijada". NGO "Young for Marof" with the Town and cycling club "BK Maraton Kreidler" are the organisers.
This Saturday, on 2nd of July, the events will start as early as 8 AM! You can get your bike checked, apply to ride the tour and meet fellow cyclists from all over the county. For a symbollic 30 kuna you get a t-shirt, donuts and water during the ride. For all those who finish there will be lunch organised for free!
At 10 AM sharp the Mayor of Novi Marof will get things moving, and another "Šic na Bic" will start!
The route of this year's cyclosportive leads towards Madžarevo, takes riders over Bela and Margečan to Železnica. There cyclists can take a break at "Ranch Chivas" and enjoy lunch as well as try out horseback riding! The route back takes us over Završje and Podvečevo through Remetinec and back to Novi Marof. The policemen from 4th Police Station "Novi Marof" will take care of safety and traffic regulations.
"This year's moto is in Croatian and we wanted to motivate the cyclists. In short it's "Ride the bike, hills don't bite"! say the organizers.
Over the years "Šic na Bic" has become one of the most famous recreative cyclosportive events in north Croatia. Around 300 cyclists are expected to hit the pavement and pedal over 40 kilometers of the "Marofski bregi".
