Poreč Bike Share is a unique service that will enable citizens and guests of Poreč a simple, fast and convenient form of transport in the city, reports HRTurizam on June 30, 2017.
This year, there will be 35 electric and 35 mechanical bicycles in Poreč, which will be located at 5 stations where everyone interested can easily participate.
Valamar's investment in the project, which was worth more than one million HRK, came to fruition in cooperation with the Public Bicycle Systems d.o.o. licensed with partner Nextbike. The service is available by an hourly rate payment option for 10 HRK. The basic weekly package is 79 HRK for 7 days, and the annual premium membership fee is 199 HRK.
Valamar has secured a special advantage for citizens who live in the Poreč area. Residents will receive a 50% discount on the premium annual package, which will be only 99 HRK. Residents of Poreč will also have an unlimited number of free rides for up to 30 minutes.
"I believe that the development of cycling infrastructure and bike destination events will give added value, and the Poreč Bike Share service will certainly enrich not only the tourist offer but also the quality of life of all citizens of Poreč. This project follows world trends and is also confirmation of Valamar's strategic orientation in the direction of introducing a number of innovative services,” said Željko Kukurin, CEO of Valamar Riviera.
The Nextbike public bicycle system in Croatia now has 20,000 registered users who recognize cycling as the smartest city transport. Nextbike transport is available in 13 Croatian cities and municipalities including Zagreb, Karlovac, Gospić, Brinje, Slavonski Brod, Ivanić Grad, Velika Gorica, Sisak, Zadar, Sibenik, Makarska, Metković and even Lastovo.
"Poreč is one of the perennials of Croatian tourism, and in the context of cyclotourism, a highly developed domestic cyclotourist destination. That is why we are extremely happy to launch the Nextbike system in cooperation with Valamar Riviera," said Krešimir Dvorski, Director of the System of Public Bicycles d.o.o.
