At a press conference at King Tomislav Square where the first Nextbike hub was set up in Croatia four years ago, Nextbike presented the results of the four-year operation of the system of public bicycles, which today has about 20,000 registered users, reports Dalmacija News on May 12, 2017.
So far, Nextbike operates in 10 Croatian cities, and from July the system will grow to five new cities which will make Croatia the third largest Nextbike country in Europe. In May, Nextbike will arrive in Velika Gorica and Sisak, and by July in Jastrebarsko, Metković and Poreč.
Zagreb, the city with the highest number of Nextbike users, could very well overtake Ljubljana next year as the current leader in the region, which would be a step forward for Zagreb in sustainable mobility.
Nextbike is the most convenient, fastest, healthiest and most entertaining form of transport in the city. Using a Nextbike significantly reduces emissions, noise, traffic jams and parking problems all while having a positive effect on the mental and physical health of the cyclist.
Nextbike users only pay 79 HRK per year for a membership fee. Nextbike can be used in more than 120 cities around the world.
