This once again confirms Valamar’s strategic focus on the development of cycling as a key activity for extending the tourist season, reports HRTurizam on March 11, 2017.
Thus, five Valamar hotels for the first time will receive the Istria Bike & Bed certificate which will last a duration of two years. The certificate was awarded at a ceremony for Valamar representatives by the Istrian Tourism Development Agency and the County of Istria.

Valamar Riviera since the beginning has strategically developed their destinations using their resources and full potential in order to offer guests exactly what they're looking for, and we are known as the leaders in the development of sports offers, including cycling,” said Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Valamar Riviera - Davor Brenko.
The department of tourism for Istria County has promoted the development of active and outdoor tourism since 2012, in collaboration with the department Istria Bike DMC which was established as part of the Istrian Tourism Development Agency - IRTA d.o.o., the Istrian Tourist Board, and the largest hotel-tourist companies that operate in Istria. The fruit of this cooperation is the project Istria Bike & Bed which is run by the County of Istria and the Istrian Tourism Development Agency, primarily to diversify private accommodation, the quality of services, and content for cycle tourists because cycling is one of the fastest growing segments of tourism with great demand.
"We have developed six specialized bike hotels that offer the highest standards of service, which also makes us unique. Valamar loves and supports sport, and cycling, as as an excellent example of an active holiday. The focus is our destination strategy, as well as the pre and post season. Therefore, we have launched the brand Valamar Loves Bike in an effort to promote this type of holiday, and within which we will develop and support projects such as Valamar Terra Magica and Valamar Trail,” concluded Brenko.
