The answer is simple: To offer quality, varied, and primarily authentic content. This is where the new tourist story of Istria, titled 'My Bike, My Heritage', was born, reports HRTurizam on September 18, 2017.
The project is a perfect mixture of cyclo-tourism, gastronomy, and cultural heritage as a new way to experience a region. The initiative aims to familiarize participants with the history of the area and the intact nature of central Istria through recreational cycling.
The Sports Federation of Istria County, in co-operation with the sports association Rog Cycling team, has organized the free MTB bicycle tour called 'My Bike, My Heritage' on Sunday, September 24, 2017, beginning at 10:00 at the main square in Vižinada. The program will be enriched with Istra Inspirit.
The route will take cyclists on the course of Parenzana, the former narrow-gauge track that many recreational cyclists and nature lovers pass through today. During the tour, a workshop will be hosted by Istra Inspirit where cyclists will be able to enjoy the charms of Istria through a combination of music, dance and Istrian customs.
The project aims to acquaint the participants with the natural, cultural, and historical heritage of the Istrian peninsula, while Istra Inspirit will help to revive the Istrian customs in the experience for the participants. The result of this thematic bicycle tour will be a combination of cultural and historical heritage, with sport, which will provide a different experience of Istria’s interior.
'My Bike, My Heritage' is a simple and genius way to help those experience the region while writing a story they will remember forever. The project is also certainly a motive for cyclists to this tourist destination.
In addition to EU funds, the project is organized under the European Erasmus +, and other partners include Maraton Franja, My Sport Is Franja, Grožnjan Mountain Bike Club and Triglav.
