Route description:
This is the route on which BK Timun Split organises the traditional summer mountain cycling event. Start is in Žrnovnica village. Take the asphalt road west to Korešnica village past the school and football stadium. After that go right on the road to Mravince village. Up the serpentines to the second gravel road on the right, 50 metres after the Auto-Centar Teo building. It’s a firemen’s road that crosses Mosor to Sitno Gornje village. Take the east road, not the west. Further on the route is more than simple: follow the road uphill and east all the way to Sitno Gornje. When you arrive to the village, take the road right to Sitno Donje. After you pass the church turn left to the observatory through a pine forest. Take the road east all the way to the end and turn around to the top of the observatory. Follow the road to the building at 700 metres above sea level. The return, or descent to Žrnovnica is via the road through Sitno Donje.
