This is a relaying touristic route of around 90 kilometres and 420 metres of height difference (only one ascent near Molvice just so it’s not all flat as a pancake).
• Expected travel speed in straight sections 22-25 km/h, uphill and downhill as you wish.
• Bring your ID cards, you’ll need them to cross the border.
• Bring a few Euros (coffee in Terme Čatež) and some Kuna (cakes in Samobor), my treat for the Medsave ferry.
Start on Saturday 15.10.2016 at 7:30h outside of Lidl at the Oranice odvojak.
• Route goes from Lidl into Oranice odvojak via the old Samobor road to Domaslovec.
• Here we turn right to Medsave ferry and cross the Sava to Zaprešić.
• Then we head out to the Harmica border crossing and enter Slovenia.
• Before Brežice we turn left to Terme Čatež. Coffee in Terme (around 40 km).
• Across Bregana border crossing to Samobor, have cakes in the square (around 56 km).
• Then we head out over Mala and Velika Rakovica to Molvice (here is a hill, just so we can say there was climbing and descending).
• From Molvice we head to Kerestinec and at the intersection of Svetonedjeljska and Kerestinečka roads eat some more (around 67 km).
• Then behind Kerestinec castle we head right to Gornji Stupnik and through Demerje to Brezovica.
• From Brezovica we go through Remetinec to Sava bridge.
• The route ends there at around 85-90 km. Expected return with so many stops and speed is after 7.5 hours, around 15h.
Although the route is planned in daylight, bring a lamp just in case.
