We invite you to the brevet “Jesen 200”. The track is new, with some still unconquered roads. The altitude profile is somewhat nervous. Right after the start we climb easily to the highest point in Međimurje, close to the 1st control point (KT) at Vukanovec lookout. It’s good to take a look at the horizon to grasp the size of the undertaking. Ravna Gora, Strahinjščica, Ivanščica and Kalnik mountains are ahead of us. We then descend to Trnovec/Središče od Dravi border crossing and continue on to Ormož. At the Drava bridge at Ormož/Virje border crossing we leave Slovenia and ride upstream along the Drava to KT2 and the Petrol gas station, just shy of the Dubrava Križovljanska/Zavrč border crossing. We continue along the Drava river and at the Borl castle turn left to Cirkulane and across Haloza hills arrive to Leskovec/Cvetlin border crossing. Here is the a second demanding climb. Upon arriving to Trakošćan there is no KT, but we continue directly to a climb and later descent to Macelj.
Here at the intersection of 3 roads we choose the regular, old road taking us directly into Krapina across Đurmanec. KT3 is at the INA gas station on the upper road. Mandatory rest and restock, as the best (steepest) is yet to come. When this rollercoaster ends, we are already at the Očura quarry where we turn onto the road to Lepoglava, Ivanec and Varaždin. But, before Ivanec in Ivanečko Naselje before the railroad corssing we turn right to Salinovec and take the Bednja valley past Beča castle to Belski Dol. No KT, but every cyclist will gladly refill water at the source. Next is 4 km of light ascent through forest shade, with a panoramic view on top. Descent to Podrute, at the end of which we must be careful due to the steep arrival to the main road crossing at the church. Left, we follow the rail to Varaždin, but after Podrute veer off towards Paka where we take the main road and continue towards Zagreb to Breznica and KT4 in Francina restaurant. Rest is necessary as the Visočki comb awaits us and from Sudovec the next to last, wide asphalt ascent. The road is no longer closed due to slides. From Moždenac after the descent we continue along Bednja valley to Varaždinske Toplice. Another winding climb and view of the northern horizon, toward Međimurje Gorice. Through Varaždin along the old road past Varteks stadium and Drava bridge we arrive back to Međimurje and slowly pedal the last 12-13 km to the finish at the city pool.
