Ericsson Nikola Tesla has joined the socially responsible companies in Europe by becoming the first in Croatia to be awarded the Cycle Friendly Employer Certificate, reports Z-Magazin on April 14, 2017.
In an effort to not only reduce the effects of greenhouse gas emissions but also promote a healthy lifestyle, Ericsson Nikola Tesla encourages their employees to use the bicycle as their primary mode of transportation.
The Union of Cyclists, as a coordinator for the certification in Croatia, said that because Ericsson Nikola Tesla encourages their employees and visitors to use the bicycle as their primary means of transport, they serve as a positive example of advocacy while practicing sustainable forms of movement and responsibility towards health, the environment, public space, and savings.
"Reducing the impact of motorized transport on the environment and human health is critical. The examples of the first certified company and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing at the University of Zagreb as the first certified institution show a positive shift towards direct and active action in this area," added the Union of Cyclists.
Ericsson Nikola Tesla continuously develops and increases the motivation of its employees to participate in topics relating to environmental protection and rational energy and participates in a variety of related initiatives. Through the active management of the influence of their own operations on the environment, including workspaces, transportation products, business travel and arrival / departure of employees from work and on the job, the company has a positive effect on the environment and significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions.
