“It is evident the awareness of a healthy lifestyle grows daily, with more people spending their free time actively, with cycling at the forefront of activities. Hence, we have often been faced with the question if we offer bike transport. From this year on we are happy to answer yes, showing once again how focused we are on our customers and values we provide. Besides taking care of our customers, we take care of the environment too. As a green travel transport service, we contribute to a reduction of carbon dioxide pollution, while passengers in choosing us also show how much they love the environment,” said Igor Krmpotić, Management member of Autotrans, as reported by Poslovni Dnevnik on June 27, 2016.
Introduction of the new bike transport service will take place in several phases, depending on passenger interest, with the honour of being first went to the island of Brač. The total length of bike paths on this middle-Dalmatian island is 1,026 kilometres, making it the island with the most cycling paths. Through joint efforts of all tourism boards on the island, guided by the county tourism board and Cycling Federation of Dalmatia, a unique cyclotourism map of Brač island was promoted in April. The town of Sutivan on Brač was also declared a bike friendly destination. All of this answer the question why Brač was chosen to be the first in Croatia where Autotrans will offer this service to passengers and tourists who will visit the island in large numbers. This way they will all, by combining bus transport and bike rides, be able to visit the entire island and completely enjoy all of its beauty.
